Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine refers to a type of cellular therapy involving the regeneration of bone, muscle, tendons and many other tissues that are derived primarily, but not necessarily, from cells of the mesenchymal system.
One of the most difficult aspects of this type of medicine is to quantitatively measure the characteristics and functionality of the cell source used for this type of therapy.
Preferred Cell Systems™ offers assays that can help provide this information, at least for some cell sources, namely mesenchymal stem cells. Regardless of how the cells are manipulated for the therapy, their quality and strength should be determined prior to use. MSCGlo™ QC and MSCGlo™ Potency can accurately provide this information.
The capability of MSCs expansion is limited and it is preferable to use MSCs that are as near to "native" as possible. MSCGlo™ Real Time can help characterize the cells and determine their doubling time.

Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy is becoming a very important tool to treat patients with cancer or other diseases. However, understanding the immune system and the cells that interact with it, is a priority for many types of immunotherapy. For example, the interaction of denditic cells or mesenchymal stem cells with immune cells appears to be of utmost importance in reducing graft versus host disease.
